Will your battery last the night?
Estimates for 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, assuming the battery is full at sunset. Actual runtime varies with the weather, how hard your ACs cycle, and what you switch on.
Usable energy: each battery bank is set for 85% usable capacity (a 15% reserve protects the cells and stays ready for blackouts), minus ~6% for inverter conversion. Percentages below show the actual battery level (SOC) on your app at 6:30 AM.
Lasts the night · ~48% at 6:30 AMessentials + fridge
Typical use (~1.0 – 1.7 kW)~1 kW
Runs until ~2:10 AM · then grid takes overessentials + 1 inverter AC
Heavy use (~1.8 – 3.0 kW)~1.8 kW
Runs until ~10:30 PM · then grid takes over2 ACs + electric cooking
6 PM6:30 AM
Comfortable for essentials all night, or for essentials plus one bedroom inverter AC in eco mode (24–25°C). Electric cooking in the evening or a second AC will drain the battery before midnight.
Lasts the night · ~61% at 6:30 AMessentials + fridge
Typical use (~1.0 – 1.7 kW)~1.3 kW
Lasts the night · ~16% at 6:30 AMessentials + 2 inverter ACs
Heavy use (~1.8 – 3.0 kW)~2.4 kW
Runs until ~12:50 AM · then grid takes over3 ACs + oven, kettle, water heater
6 PM6:30 AM
Suits a typical villa with two modern 12,000 BTU inverter ACs running overnight. Adding a third AC, an electric water heater, or a pool pump on a night schedule moves the cutoff to around 1:00 AM.
Lasts the night · ~67% at 6:30 AMessentials + fridge
Typical use (~1.0 – 1.7 kW)~1.7 kW
Lasts the night · ~29% at 6:30 AMessentials + 3 inverter ACs
Heavy use (~1.8 – 3.0 kW)~3 kW
Runs until ~2:30 AM · then grid takes over4 ACs + oven, kettle, water heater
6 PM6:30 AM
Built for larger homes running three inverter ACs overnight with comfortable breathing room (~29% left at sunrise). Even with a fourth AC and heavy evening kitchen use (~3.0 kW average), the 32.0 kWh bank carries the house past 2:30 AM before switching back to the grid.
* Light use means fridge, freezer, Wi-Fi, lights, fans, and TV.
Illustrative model: battery full at 6:00 PM, 15% reserve, 94% inverter efficiency, no inverter standby draw. Solar output is calibrated to 3.9 kWh per kWp per day. Daytime load is assumed equal to the selected profile. Cloudy days leave less in the battery by evening.
What happens when the battery runs low
On a normal night, when the battery reaches its 15% reserve, the Deye inverter synchronizes with the CEB grid and switches back without a flicker (sub-4ms UPS transfer). Computers, Wi-Fi, and ACs keep running without interruption, and the 15% reserve stays locked in the battery for a real power cut.
